As anti-trans laws pass around the nation, many point to North Carolina's "bathroom bill" as one of the first times anti-trans rhetoric played a part in Republican politics.
But that rhetoric was perfected in the fight over the Houston Equal Rights Ordinance in 2015.

Trump is a brain boiled lunatic (among other things that make him unfit) but that’s sadly not news and already baked in to everyone’s existing stances towards him

The U.K. exit poll is famously accurate, so these should be close to the final tally.
Conservatives avoided the rock-bottom projections, but Reform gaining 13 is an earthquake.

It’s not a gratuitous insult. I said I believe the line of thinking is civically disordered, by which I mean I think your argument dangerously prioritizes subjective, partisan preferences over valuing independent and corroborated reporting. I believe that line of thinking is bad. I didn’t attack you

I really think if you’ve reached the place of “it’s an NYT article; I don’t trust it” in your defense of your preferred candidate, you need to reevaluate your civic priorities

This is civically disordered thinking. The press is covering it because it’s a real story, it matters, and we all saw a stark example of the issue on live tv last week.
I think almost everyone at these places probably would like us not to elect Trump if you asked them, and Biden looks set to lose

This just strikes me as a mix of denial and rationalization. The NYT broke this reporting, and CNN confirmed it.
As to the schedule itself, this is not “reasonable” for a president in the midst of what is in fact the most important electing in modern American history.

This is just not acceptable either for the President of the United States or for someone who needs to campaign for the very life of our democracy over the next four months.
No events after 8pm means no live prime-time townhalls or speeches

Deeply troubled by pro-democracy allies turning to defenses of Biden that rest on insisting that the journalists are all lying and the polls are all wrong.

If we see a return of Trump and the implementation of the GOP’s hard right policies, LGBTQ+ Americans are at risk.
Right-wing family policies from Hungary to Tennessee have become tools for erasing LGBTQ+ people. Read me at @foreignpolicy.com
