Last week I was invited to give an exoplanets talk at the 16th International Conference on Gas Geochemistry (16ICGG), organized in Tenerife. I was the odd one out among internatonal experts in gas chemistry, introducing them to what we know about the compositon of exoplanets and their atmospheres 🔭🪐

My third poster in #Exoplanets5 (yest, that's a lot of posters) is about the discovery of a small multi-planetary system orbting the star TOI-238. We get a hot rocky super-Earth (exactly earth-like composition track) and a water-world/mini-Neptune (exactly at the crossroad of composition tracks).

The poster about Proxima with NIRPS wasn't the only one I had at #Exoplanets5. On Monday, my discovery of two potentially habitable planets orbiting the nearby GJ 1002 was also there. Little by little we get to know the neighbourhood better and it turns out its full of little promising worlds.

This small snippets usually clarify the scenes they are actually referencing, to the point of making me wonder why they weren't there in the first place. It is like they consistently make small editing sacrifices for whatever reason, and then they fix them in the recap. In almost every episode.

Aside from being generally stupid and bad (though somewhat entertaining and ocasionally amusing), La Brea does a weird thing worth mention that I don't recall seeing in other shows. When they do the episode recap, they include scenes and dialogue that didn't happen in the show.

Can it actually? I've been testing it, and best I can get is the bots to provide docstrings and tidy up functions. Which admittedly is useful, but way less advanced than what all the AI people are claiming. Anything beyond that has been more miss than hit, and slower than coding from scratch.
