This doesn't seem to me to address the reason *why* he should drop out, which is that the signs of senility are increasing. Yes, he did well at a rally the next day. That's not relevant! When my dad got Alzheimer's, he did well in familiar situations up until the week he died.

Ah, I'm not believing it (obviously I could be wrong). But the dropout caucus at The Times doesn't ever sound like they're talking about that, either. They're always talking about public opinion as they interpret the polling, not medical opinion.
