Poor choice of words from me - clearly the EU don't *have* to do anything and can walk away. What I was trying to say is that Labour have a red line on FoM, but there are ways of fudging that if both sides want an agreement. Fudgist rather than cakeist maybe?

The Labour response has the advantage of killing off the discussion rather than inviting a criticism for not setting out a Labour position. The Labour "no" is a powerful negotiating statement. It tells the EU they are going to have to give on FoM - perhaps simply agreeing equal quotas would do it?

There's also one side with less to lose by breaking those laws. The asymmetry in behaviour could be quite marked.

Labour could use that as their GE narrative. Set an expectation that they are going to have to prioritise. Stabilise what they can and pick a few low hanging fruit to improve. Show they've fixed some important things by the end of the first term and they should be set fair for a second.

European focus is Denmark and Germany, Asia is China, Brazil more than Argentina in S. America and a big cluster in the north of the US perhaps where Scandinavian migrants settled. Very little in middle east. Has to be pork consumption doesn't it?

I had an s8 that I was perfectly happy with except the battery life reduced to around 1/2 a day. Upgraded to a reconditioned 1 year old S23 and I've got about 3 days on a single charge. I don't need the extra features, just the battery life.

There will be books written about how David Cameron killed the Tory Party by promising the Brexit referendum. It has cost them whatever reputation they had for economic competence and torn a previously coherent party into factions that hate each other. Who knows how the centre right will recover?

I have a vegetarian cookbook that has half the recipes listed by the main ingredient (fine) and half of them listed under 'v' as "vegetable...[whatever]". It's not completely unhelpful, but could be so much better.

I put the YouGov numbers into Electoral Calculus yesterday. Sunak was on course to hold his seat by 0.2%. It would become the second most marginal Con hold.

The tables suggest they've lost a lot of votes to Labour. Roughly the same proportion of their 2019 vote as Cons have lost to Reform.

It looks like it was popular up to 2019 when the Feed in Tariff scheme ended. The panel owners took some of the tariff money to repay the capital cost of the equipment. It appears to still happen, but without the FiT payments, it's much less common.

I think some companies used to rent them to you and you paid a monthly (?) charge to them. This avoided up front costs, but did leave the ownership uncertain in the event of a house sale. I'm not sure if this model persists.

Then into adulthood women allow each other to do that again, but most men don't. Men who don't need to be part of the group are freer to express themselves sincerely, I think.

There seems to be a shift from childhood when boys and girls allow their peers to express sincere emotions through to adolescence when neither can (maybe worse for boys?).

The word 'status' took me off in a slightly different direction. He really doesn't *need* to be an MP or PM and he's unlikely ever to be as rich as his father in law, but as a route to status it's golden and the contact list is priceless.

Appears to have had 5 constituencies, and won in 4 different decades, so should qualify by the letter of the question. Last win was in the 1959 election in Woodford.

Without outside intervention, they appear to be headed even further to the right and electoral oblivion. However, what if a powerful right-leaning media organisation decides to give Sunak a kicking for going too far right and tries to haul them back towards the centre in a bid for future power?

Rather than something like Brexit being the rock that sinks the ship, it could be something much more prosaic like their leadership election rules. If a moderate gets on the ballot, the nationalist-right will want their candidate on there too and the membership will almost certainly pick the latter.

A lot depends on the analysis of the defeat. If they lose 250MPs and most of those seats go Lab, some LD and 0 to Ref, will they really conclude that they should have tacked closer to Reform? Could Braverman and Badenoch be seen as part of the problem by MPs and not even get on the members ballot?

Now we see Staunton's email note to himself. It could appear that Badenoch's actions may result in this being pinned on Grant Shapps. Why would she want to do that?🤷♂️ www.thetimes.co.uk/article/334d...

It seems fine for searches for information if you craft your search well (probably more necessary than it was). If you want to buy something, it's terrible for finding suppliers because the search has to be *very* specific to work well.

Some seem to think they'll make 'wrong' decisions. That seems to underestimate the ability of diligent citizens to weigh evidence and come to reasoned conclusions. We should evaluate their usefulness outside the UK and trial them if they look useful.
