When did being a GM in a RPG become some sort of social media influencer thing ? I keep seeing posts from people talking about being a GM as if they provide a special service and role and their contributions influence the community.

Coincidentally, I was just reaching a piece where the author starts by mentioning they've been a "full professional GM" for the last four years, which I did not know was a thing. Maybe it comes from the same place, as I imagine there's not enough "pro GM" work to go around.
