Coincidentally, I was just reaching a piece where the author starts by mentioning they've been a "full professional GM" for the last four years, which I did not know was a thing. Maybe it comes from the same place, as I imagine there's not enough "pro GM" work to go around.

The Arweave-incubated AO protocol is an interesting, new approach to distributed systems - think arbitrary, globally distributed Erlang processes wired by a single messaging bus. Sadly I just learned they've decided to brand it as an AI thing (because!) so I suspect it will attract opportunists.

This is the flipside of Elizabeth Warren's corporatocratic favor-the-banks carpet-bombing approach. People with deep pockets take it as an existential threat and overreact. Extremism engenders extremism. You don't see this antagonism in the EU because of a more sensible approach to regulation.

You could with zero-knowledge proofs and a third-party identity verifier, but that requires infra that none of these sites use, and that they are unlikely to understand or want to go through the integration cost. They are a lot more likely to demand explicit identification. More data, more ads.
