I guess one thing I don't understand is what retailers get from leaking screenshots of upcoming comic books online. Seems like it erodes trust and hobbles any promo plans the comic companies may have? Which in turn hurts the retailers?

Mind you they're both doddering old men who almost definitely have significant health issues. Mostly this is about how I wouldn't be surprised to learn the Trump camp has goosed the convo away from their candidate in a fairly typical manner.

Has anyone pointed out that whenever Trump has run against someone, as soon as he gets criticism for something he instead lashes out and blames the person running against him for that thing? And with repeated concerns about Trump's degrading mental state, we're now talking about that with Biden?

That's fair, and I do think it's a matter of taste/how you're reading individual scenes. Like, you know, anything else! For me it wasn't modulated correctly, but I can see how it could be fine for others.

I think it was just a choice? According to Kripke, Quaid has wanted to be in a costume for a while, and they thought it would be funny to put him in the "Spider-Man" one.

Right. I really enjoyed The Boys when it came out, but haven't revisited it since. The show did a great job initially of nuancing and smoothing a lot of that out, but this season feels like it's tipped too hard towards the comic (nothing against Ennis or Robertson, to be clear).

Thanks, Gabe, appreciate you giving it a read! It was unfortunate seeing that quote, particularly because it backed up a lot of the uncomfortable feelings I had watching this episode -- and frankly, this season as a whole, which has tipped a little too far into the "aren't we edgy???" tone.
