I might have mentioned it before, but I really like the 5.5 bastion rules- especially since my current campaign involves a walking castle the players repurposed into their bastion.

It's a lot less terrifying than it might first sound- it just refers to the various beholder-like creatures. So things like gauth or spectators.

Thought my party could handle a fistful of beholderkin, but man do a few bad saving throws cause things to snowball fast when you're getting half a dozen status effects aimed your way. At least now they should have a healthy fear of getting too close to Gzemnid's realm.

Echo knight plans went to the backburner briefly while we did a wild west-themed one-shot inspired by the recent 5e orc art. Went for a thri-kreen instead since more arms = more guns.

While not my favorite of the bunch, what I appreciate the most about 1e art is that it feels like the kind of drawings an adventurer might sketch in a journal each night along with the records of their journey.

Yeah, 3e is around the point where they decided to go all in on the entire formatting- from margins to page numbers, giving everything a fantasy grimoire feel that I love.

Well, my party wants to continue playing Icewind Dale RotF past where the book ends, so I guess it's time to get a copy of the 3.5 Frostburn book and do some converting, then see if I they want to run things all the way to lvl20.
