I'm eyeing the 2012 Galaxy Note 10.1 3G of mine for that. The whole pen input thing rocks so much, I don't wanna live the tablet or even phablet life without one.

1) Jackdaw furiously trying to pick up a wrapper. - 2) Magpie in a state of poor health, coughing with nostrils flared. Found this specimen two days later in a different area and it was more energetic with normal behavior toward humans, but still coughing. - 3) [HISSING INTENSIFIES] 📷🪶

Thank you! Lacking that reach rapidly went and got in the way of photo-opps after switching, doh! I'm too stubborn to carry both along. On the 26th begins a week of national championship sports events in my city, I will challenge myself and shoot that with the 300.

I took a photo of a jackdaw that's straight out of a book or a pamphlet, I positively nailed it and this is straight out of the camera. 📷🪶 Going back to using a 50mm lens, I feel the heft of the 300mm (used for this shot) in my back..

Had company by a rare white cat while out for a walk, while I had only the 300mm lens on. Very well kept and fed cat, young and healthy, not much of a primordial pouch, tagged and trackable with a modern necklace. I wish it good luck in its hunts, and many pets. 📷🐱

A round and fluffy sparrow youngling was anything but afraid of me, so I kept it company for a while. Back on a 35mm lense for a while 📷🪶 (My hat indeed has dangly bits that I keep neglecting to tie up and repair.)

I'm trying to find a used 11" MacBook Air where I live of the last user-upgradable SSD year, with an i7, because I dig my 2012 MBA that much at least in hardware. The 2012 one will remain on linux but a 2015-2017 model will stay MacOS for music & production. Lovely machines, great value for money.

- MacOS works real well, stable and reliable. - Linux works and I can tune it the way I want, and I'm good and cozy, feeling right at home and happy. - Windows doesn't work and I cannot make it work the way I want, and it's going to crash explorer for no reason in 5 4 3 oh it's a BSOD instead, well!

We basically don't exist to the masses, in reality and fiction it's almost always positive or negative, black or white, on or off, gay or straight, nothing inbetween - no bisexuals. We've maxed the heck out of our stealth skills, though we never even tried to level 'em up after leaving our closets.

What does a 300mm prime lense do for me, when photographing birds? It scores me detail like mad. Enough that I want to get the top of the line EOS M for stills while keeping the OG M for filming (and getting spares). Here's a crow polishing its beak, and the 100% crop. 📷🪶

I'm already a Linux user but, Adobe AfterEffects Are there better alternatives to it than Blender and DaVinci Fusion/Fusion via Resolve? Yes, the crash-happy lumpy unreliable unstable horror that is AfterEffects. I make the BleVinci duo work but it's like I need a few more years to really feel it.

📷✈️ June 6th is the flag day of Sweden so there was a little airshow kind of thing going on, and the guest of honor was the new airforce trainer, the SK40. Using the 2012 Canon EOS M with a chonker of a 300mm lense, here are four photos I'd like to share of this nose-art beauty (when on the pad).

You should be able to blacklist the broken one with some linux wizardry and be fine (learned that when trying to figure out DRI_PRIME dedicated vs integrated DIY), otherwise what I've seen people do was to have the video output used, since that one's set to use the surviving GPU.

Got tired of my 13" i7 8gb mid-2012 Air feeling held back by an old MacOS, threw EndeavourOS linux in there and Bob turned out to be my uncle. For my next trick, I will NOT be tempted to grab a maxed out more powerful 11" Air and repeat this. Boy it's difficult.

Conclusion: This is as good as it gets on my limited hardware which is a 3770U laptop. My next purchase (Ryzenbox with a 780m and oculink) will be vastly better off for performance, and old laptops with dedicated GPUs are real good for performance in linux compared to just a Ryzen APU.

Hardware: Ryzen 3770U, Vega 10 APU. Situation: Unable to reach full GPU perf&freqs? 8000+ glxgears. CPU & temps OK. Fine in Windows games, near half fps in linux? Have tried: Made it OCable, changing power_dpm_force_performance_level from auto to high = hw lockup, RyzenCtrl, cpupower, etc.

I could feature bonus chapters from the perspective of the natives, but that would affect the mystery, and mysteries are attractive. Instead, I let this main character feel or sense, as if someone's emotions are leaking just enough to be noticed. It's a peaceful world, and headpats are featured.

The focus on the dive was not right, but it was a great moment to capture in still. Walking alongside the jackdaw, it seems that 1/125 is not fast enough of a shutter speed to capture their walk in perfect, it was the head-bob that blurred here. What a fun hobby! 🦉📷 Canon EOS M, Pentacon 50mm 1.8

It's essential to have a second computer or phone to search and figure things out with. The tricky thing is finding a distribution you feel right at home with, took me a few years. Happiness is knowing that if something breaks, you're the reason why, and feeling safe from random BSODs. Good luck!

Reminder: If your MacOS device runs slow as all heck (suddenly), check the remaining space on the storage device. 30 some gigs left of 250 total on this 2012 MBA and it was unusably bad. 70 gigs free now - no problems, as fine as ever. Time to do more off-unit backups.

Which distro, which kernel, which wifi hardware? With the troubles I've had, people have recommended USB wifi dongles to bypass the issues. Solved it by switching from Manjaro to pure Arch on the computer in question, doing that solved a lot of other problems tho. (2013 ThinkPad)

How old is the hardware, the wifi device in general? I had that with Manjaro on my 2013 Thinkpad, rare old wifi card. Upgraded Kernel and the support for it went away, rolled back and it was perma-screwed. Was perfectly fine with Arch ofc. It's a pain to find the distro that works and feels right.
