i mean, it honestly depends. not to catastrophize, but i would never tell folks in danger of being rounded up or killed in a progrom that they should fight instead of flee. hell, i wouldn't tell Latin folks *we put in cages* to fight for their neighbors, i'd tell them to save themselves if possible

what's terrifying about this moment, and what was terrifying in the run up to and during Trump's presidency, is no one knows what kind of emergency it is and who might die because of it and how. with some kinds, fighting means death & it's ok to want to live.

The folks you describe aren’t who I’m talking about in the thread. See qualifier “relative privilege.” But I’ll tell you what, I’ve seen some of the most beautiful politics of solidarity & organizing modeled by the most at-risk folks in every community I’ve been in. If they can do it I can too :)
