He’d almost certainly miss the obvious easy get out - “As an England fan I’m supporting the team, but as a Saints fan I’d also love to see Che Adams and Stuart Armstrong do well for Scotland”

Interestingly, my mum whose work meant she never needed to engage with DOS, later adapted well to Windows as her first use of computers. And my mother-in-law, who never needed to use either, has now got quite handy with iOS

My dad spent most of his career with a manual typewriter, adapted to WordPerfect / DOS, but struggled to make the jump to Word / Windows, despite it being “easier” My kids are used to tech that “just works” - why would you bother to learn *how* it works? (I feel the same about modern reliable cars)

The Government’s bizarre focus on Rwanda as their electoral salvation feels like a classic Chewbacca Defence: “If the Rwanda plan is in effect, you must re-elect” To which the only sensible response is - what on EARTH are you talking about?

Blackthorne: I’m not a NIMBY, we need new homes/solar farms/railways/electricity grid connections. But this particular proposal hasn’t been thought out, and is not in the right place Mariko: The Anjin says he is a NIMBY

I never understood what problem (b) was meant to prevent! Merging towns is how all great conurbations were formed. It worked out OK for the Cities of London & Westminster, or Buda & Pest - does GB policy think that was a mistake we would ideally want to undo?

Does 1.5 million homes in next parliament imply annual target of 375,000? (You’d expect a 4-year first term)

@thomasforth.bsky.social welcome Tom. Just the person I was looking for - under what definition is Leeds UK’s third largest city?

2nd maybe if you (perversely) stick to district boundaries. But 3rd?

Do your magic circles do it?

Also not happy with “how many states of matter are there”. I mean, about 22, but depends what you mean.. (No, I’m not being that guy who challenges the quizmaster, just quietly muttering)

This week's population projections put us right back where we started Planning Guidance still uses 2014-based projections as starting point for housing need, ignoring later, lower projections Now latest figures pretty much match the old ones again Maybe we do need those extra homes after all...

Hi, looks like they’re called Microtech Propel I’m no doctor and I’d imagine there are different causes of tinnitus, so may not be right for everyone and need to get proper advice But for me it was fantastic - both a relief while wearing, and quite quickly got rid of it

They explained the tinnitus to me as like the hum you get when you turn a speaker up to max when there’s no music Your brain is straining too hard hear something when there’s nothing White noise gives it something else to fix on so it calms down

I had tinnitus treated (NHS) with something that looked like a hearing aid, but it just played subtle white noise Only needed to wear it in the evenings at home, when it was quiet. Tinnitus pretty much gone after a few months Strongly recommend
