The '80s was very in-flux visually. You look at something like 48 HOURS in 1982 and it screams '70s. But just a year later Tony Scott comes on the scene with THE HUNGER and defines the look of the rest of the decade.

Yeah, The Hunger is maybe a film that hasn’t held up that well (I’ve seen people here complain that it’s boring) but at the time it was explosive. Horror movies weren’t going to be the same after that Bela Lugosi’s Dead opening
