I don't even really have time for my daily flashcard routine anymore during exam season (study full time, part time research job, single dog mom) but after breaking 100-300+ day streaks of things like yoga and meditation before I am petrified of dropping a routine.

I think a huge part of staying motivated learning Korean every day for a year so far has been watching Netflix shows and understanding more with each episode. First it was like fhsagvdbvhffjgfhgfh and then it was like hfhjdbfhj 고마워 hhfsfj 좋아해 dhjf 먹자 fncdsk 아니 in steadily increasing amounts

from a psychological perspective the tortured artist trope is just not true. there ARE a few notable examples but we hear about them disproportionately because it sounds romantic, but by and large suffering and any kind of stress are bad for creativity and i think this is a harmful narrative.
