Sorry, just noticing this. It’s actually hard to read. It may be a sign that the SCOTUS isn’t interested in hearing this case at all. Or it may be a sign that the justices are in no rush. Very worrying if the latter.

The optimistic version is that once the D.C. Circuit made clear it was moving very quickly, granting cert probably wouldn't have actually gotten it resolved sooner. Assuming they don't then grant cert on the appeal, which would be in line with their apparent preference to avoid Trump when they can.

Why? The DC Circuit rules on the issue quickly. Then SCOTUS denies cert. Def a possibility no?
