Nixon is the reason we had the shuttle instead of a Mars program. The reason Apollo didn't do the Venus fly-by. I mean, among the other terrible Nixon stuff. Just trying to scope this haunting to space stuff which I know about instead of the obvious other stuff that other folks know more about.
