Partially for this reason I don’t follow car development like I used to. As such, I think the last interesting performance car, at least in the US, was the BMW i8. It had enough idiosyncrasies, like the hood being incredibly obnoxious to open, to be more of a concept car you could actually buy.

All of this is to ultimately say that the Cybertruck is so onerous, with such a toxic culture surrounding it that it completely destroys what I said in the OP. It’s not a beast you love in spite of itself because it’s at the bleeding edge of cool and sacrifices were made. It’s just a piece of shit
