Machete goes wooooosh clunk. Chainsaw sings and growls. Has the same feeling of power as a shotgun. Shotgun is the king of shootie weapons but chainsaw is the vibration and the growl.

The sing/growl thing with a chainsaw is a really great description. At idle a chainsaw sounds like it is making a warning sound, and personally I can't start a chainsaw without revving it a couple times, much like I can't pick up barbeque tongs without clicking them.
