Instagram ads are going off the deep end again. Lots of very obvious AI clothes that simply don't make any sense and blatant financial scams.

It is, isn't it? I love the comment about it only ever being a slogan that didn't mean anything too

For those of you concerned, Gus has just about managed to recover from the disappointment over the rain and is back to his usual bist schedule if sleeping.

Gus is moping because while the door is wide open and he is more than welcome to go out, he can't because it's pissing it down and this is something he hasn't come to terms with yet.

Leandro Fernandez and Dave Stewart have done a terrific job on Gotham By Gaslight: The Kryptonian Age of echoing Mignola's art without feeling like they're actually just copying it.

Sounds like a ban on conversion "therapy" is high on the government's priority list, which is good. I hope they follow through quickly rather than trying to placate religious groups thinking they should be allowed to carry out abuse because their imaginary friend says it's OK.

A lot of people fail to realise the "separate the art from the artist" really inky applies if said artist isn't still directly benefiting from it. Buying Harry Potter crap benefits the TERF, listening to the Ring Cycle doesn't benefit Wagner.

As far as I can see Phillipson is, like Dodds, a bit if a fence-sitter but the writer TERF seems to be furious about them being appointed so that's a positive.

It doesn't mean that it's a positive for trans kids of course, but at least it implies they might actually be asking for input from actual schools before coming up with transpohibic and fundamentally illegal policies

Huh. Bridget Philipson also being Equalities Minister is interesting. Since one of the most contentious issues with regards to trans rights was around schools it does make sense for her to have direct input as Education and Equalities.

I love doing character design and costume design. The problem is I am less good at finishing writing stories for these characters and designs to inhabit. I just need someone to pay me to do designs and I'd be happy.

I'm also have more issues with insomnia but that comes and goes anyway and I don't know if it's ADHD related or just it being summer and not dark (I'm a light sleeper at the best of times so even a small amount of daylight means disturbed sleep)

Think I might actually have to get a full ADHD diagnosis (my previous diagnosis was from an autism who diagnosed both but as far the doctor goes that's not an ADHD diagnosis). I don't think I need medication (not currently, anyway) but I think the disability needs to be noted officially

Those sound simultaneously awful and excellent. One of my favourite things is going to B&M Bargains and finding the dubious flavours of biscuits and chocolate in the hope of finding pure gold.

Yes, he's definitely the most outspokenly anti-trans of the Cabinet but also probably in the position where he can have the most lasting damage. He's absolutely using the fact he's a gay man to frame his TERFery as acceptable too.

I have very find memories of both the chocolate peppermint chip Pringles and the sweet cinnamon Pringles. Oh, and banana Jammie Dodgers. Strawberries and cream popcorn isn't even on the same scale.

I also don't see her being any kind of active opposition to Streeting's TERFery either though so I suspect the Health Department is actually where the focus really needs to be.

Annaliese Dodds as Equalities Minister probably means that things won't get actively and immediately worse for trans people but I suspect it also means she'll just carry on vacillating and trying to please everyone by being noncommittal in the hope the problem goes away.

There are a few episodes of I Love Lucy, The Golden Girls and The Good Life (the dinner party episode for one) that are absolutely perfectly written, acted and filmed that should be in the discussion at least. Older sitcoms often don't get the credit they deserve in that regard.

I have updated my online portfolio and commission rates. My commissions are nominally open at the moment although with the proviso that I am fairly busy so work may take a little longer than normal

We've mostly sealed it in an ad hoc way but the whole thing needs to be taken out and fully sealed before we can have the huge hole in the dining room ceiling filled and replastered. Finding a plumber at the moment seems nigh on impossible though.

We have an ongoing issue with our en-suite, because when we had it redone the bathroom fitter put in the shower tray and screen *then* tiled so although the tiles were sealed the tray and screen aren't which meant that over a period of months it started leaking through the ceiling of the room below

To be fair I suspect the most frequently found hidden room is probably a sec dungeon of one kind or another. Still not sure it's a discovery I'd want to make. Especially not in the home of a family member.

Of course, when I do raise my rates I will then immediately forget what I have raised them too and have to check every time someone asks me.

They sent us photos because they knew no-one would believe them otherwise. It wasn't a very big sex dungeon, but there was absolutely no doubt what it was intended for. Why it had just been walled up (along with the stairs) rather than removed is anyone's guess.

We have some friends who have been doing up their house (all a 70s build, allegedly designed and built by an architect but they've sceptical about how professional they were). They took down a wall and found not only a walled up staircase but also a literal sex dungeon.

I used to have a pair of red velvet bellbottoms that were my mum's from the 70s that I wore at university in the 90s (I *was* a drama student).

On a whole other scale, but they're renovating Manchester Town Hall at the moment and have been for several years, but it's ended up taking a lot longer because they keep finding things like sideways chimneys running under floors because it appears to have been built complete madmen.
