Since the SCOTUS immunity decision I have completely shifted my mindset from "We have too much savings we should spend on things we want" to "I'm not spending a dime I don't have to because I need every dime I have to get my toddler to safety at a moment's notice."
I'm also thinking a sudden catastrophic drop in consumer spending should have happened immediately following that SCOTUS decision. And a slide in the DJIA wouldn't hurt, either. Those things seem to spook them more than voter polls and elections.
I know this reads like a "in this liberal coffee shop" tweet, but I am not normally a guy who overreacts to stuff like this or gets emotional, but I am genuinely terrified right now and it's impacting my $ decisions. The situation now feels categorically different than anything before.
