I used to use twitter for getting info/leads to stories & articles - to stay informed. Sure, also to rant. I do a lot of that. If all that accomplishes is to serve as a release of pressure, that's fine with me. To accomplish s/thing, I'd do phone banks, postcards, donate, etc. I'm retired!

I have a brother who gets easily frustrated re: politics. Many, many years ago I think he decided to ignore most of it after he watched some debate or speech and then - here come the analysts to tell him what he just saw - and he didn't think it really WAS what he just saw with his own eyes.

I just did a search on here for Orban Putin and mostly got posts in foreign languages. Un-f'n-believable. I doubt there'll be more than 10 seconds of coverage. No wonder so many Americans are or seem to be so ignorant about stuff.

I don't know how much 'political analysts' who appear on networks and cable shows get paid, but I have to assume it's cheaper than actually informing the public about the state of things. Seems to me, people would like some basic factual info re: where candidates stand on what's important here.

It doesn't take long to highlight the differences on major issues. Doing something to curb gun violence (background checks, assault rifle ban), support women's repro rights, deal with climate change, support the troops & vets, health care, child & elder care, increase tax on wealthy not mid class.
