They’re fine. I’m honestly pretty ambivalent about them. If you want a pet that basically appears to be a box of dirt with a hole in it 99% of the time, and you throw in some bugs every month or so, they’re alright.

There's also jumping spiders which have a lot more varied behaviors than tarantulas but are tiny so you'll have to get REALLY close to see any of those. And every now and then a jumper will take that as an invitation to leap at your nose.
