For us to live, two stars had to die. One star provided the elements for our solar system, and another star's remnants gave the heavier elements essential for life.
Our very existence is a testament to the cosmic cycle of stellar life and death, connecting us to the universe in profound ways. 🌌

If it wasn't already, Murdoch's media empire is now going to be used to serve the interests of one of the most terrible regimes in existence today. The alignment of their reporting and commentary with this regime's propaganda is unmistakable and deeply concerning for anyone who values truth.

Just watched the mini-series #AGentlemanInMoscow based on Towles' book. The story is fantastical, almost like a Christmas tale if the Grinch had stolen Christmas. It's about a man preserving himself and helping others in terrible times. An emotional rollercoaster. Highly recommend it! #tvshows

Happy Pride to everyone, including straight folks!
Pride isn't about debauchery; it’s a celebration of overcoming hate and prejudice against diverse sexualities. It's a symbol of humanity's progress towards acceptance and love. Keep being good, everyone!

Just finished “Decade in Tory: An Inventory of Idiocy from the Coalition to Covid” by Russell Jones. A sharp, hilarious critique of the past decade in British politics—from the coalition to Brexit and Covid-19. A must-read for anyone into UK politics! #BookReview #BritishPolitics #Satire #Politics

I haven't finished reading "The Insect Crisis: The Fall of the Tiny Empires That Run the World" yet, but I already want everyone to read it. The book is full of horrific data on a sharp decline in the number of insects. For instance, in Europe, the number of butterflies halved from 1999 to 2011.

I forgot my normal glasses at home, but took the sunglasses. They are prescription glasses, so at least I can work in them. But I must admit, it's a little dark 🤣

In 🇬🇧, there is an expression: “to kill two birds with one stone.” In 🇷🇺, it's “to kill two hares with one bullet.” In 🇩🇪, it's “to kill two flies with one blow.” In 🇨🇳, it's “to kill two eagles with one arrow.” In 🇮🇹, it's “to kill two pigeons with one bean.”
Why so much killing?

On Thursday, the governing body of one of the University of Alberta's largest faculties voted overwhelmingly against president Bill Flanagan's leadership over his handling of a pro-Palestinian student protest camp. He didn't have much to say about it.
