He was ordered to resign by his own leaders after having said he welcomed an investigation *and did not get that opportunity.* That is not “I have no good explanation.” Yet when all the dust settled, Dem Franklin was out and 0 accused Republicans were out or even investigated. Odd how that worked.

"Ordered"? There is literally no mechanism whatsoever for Democratic leaders to order anyone to resign. He had no support in the party because it was obvious an investigation would just drag out the scandal and make it look worse.
