also not to keep ranting but it's not just costs that gatekeep poor disabled ppl from the vital mobility aids/assistive devices we need. it's the arduous, time-consuming application process. repairs which are also not covered often take many months -even YRS. but those barriers don't exist for MAiD.

& tbc the person who liaisons between the OT & higher-ups in the company re: the chair & the workers who actually build the chair have all been fantastic. none of the obstacles i've faced are on them. it's the outcome of a needlessly gatekept & increasingly defunded program
