i live in canada & while what's left of our public healthcare system is better than the US, that's a very low standard. public services are defunded & bought off by private equity, our disability "support" rates are just as abject poverty level as the US & out of pocket medical expenses are absurd.

two things are true for me a disabled person in legislated sub-poverty living in canada: 1. i'd be dead if not for public healthcare 2. yet i've still had to crowd-fund thousands upon thousands of dollars multiple times for basic needs & out-of-pocket medical costs like oxygen, mobility aids etc
