I honestly don't understand how anyone that's lived for the last 20+ years can possibly believe that voting matters. We've voted for fundamental change multiple times, and those elected have only made things worse. That's by design. Doubling down on electoralism is a sunk cost fallacy at this point.
I get that voting isn’t as effective as we would like it to be, but it also takes so little effort to vote in most places that there isn’t a good reason not to. Participating in elections won’t prevent the revolution unless you’re an accelerationist
What gets me about the vote scolds is that WE ALREADY VOTED FOR BIDEN! He is currently the president and he just said he won't do anything about SCOTUS. What will re-electing him accomplish? Buy time until the next "most important election of our lifetime?"
I think voting matters in one particular aspect. It buys us time.
If we give up the orange one has won.
Everything you've said is right. Our system has failed. Change needs time though. And by change i don't mean that Obama BS. I mean a disruption made by the people, for the people.
Capitalism weaponizes comfort
Specifically for liberals
liberals are coddled placated and pacified while left stagnant infantile inhumane husks
By almost always papering over discomfort, & community liberals never face reality, or the consequences of their own inhumanity
My take is that voting won't change the system, only the personnel. I am not opposed to voting at all, but if you want systemic change, its definitely NOT the answer.
Even worse, it's a dangerous distraction. We're not billionaires with infinite time and resources. We can't do everything. We're all exploited workers that desperately need change. We've been taking losses for decades and we can't keep following the failed playbook that got us to this point.
