I thought he might have, but I've not seen many of his films (much to my shame as a Canadian). The stunt looked dangerous as hell in 1924, I can only imagine how much worse it would have been in those early cars.

Enjoyed the film, but points off for blackface and the lack of agency of the female lead. Though the latter does recall the plight of Alice in Trollope's CAN YOU FORGIVE HER? published 60 years previously.

@moviessilently.bsky.social I watched RECKLESS AGE last night and was happy to see the stunt of the car racing the train and crossing the tracks at the last minute. IIRC correctly Brownlow used that shot in the HOLLYWOOD episode on stunts.
Was that the first time a stunt like that had been done?

I read those when I was working in a comic shop and I had to try to read everything. I thought it was fine at the time, but it didn't rise above the mediocre noise of most of Marvel's output at the time. Last year I did a reread and, boy, I did not enjoy it.

From my American Constitutional Law classes, the Court can't be disbanded. Justices can only be removed by impeachment or death. The former is highly unlikely if not impossible. The second can be implemented by either Nature, or, as of today, the President.
