Yes, it's a very childish approach to politics, more about reactively finding someone to blame for their lot than proactively voting for something that could improve their lot. That coupled with false class entrenchment, e.g. voting tory makes one middle class, is a bad combination.

Not that I'm sure my own country (the USA) is on average much better. The idea I should vote for the guy "I'd like to have a beer with" doesn't seem a particularly good qualification for running a global superpower ...
