Lifetime emissions of ICE cars are greater than that of EVs, even when the EV is built using energy from a fossil fuel grid. Power plants & EVs are much more efficient than ICE vehicles. An ICE car spews emissions its entire life as more fuel is burned.🧪🔌💡

Huge honor for us: Steph of 'I Drive A Classic' has featured John's Canadian 1949 Minor lowlight, a 'Survivor' with less than 20,000 miles.
She shot the video at the recent #MorrisMinor National Rally—75 years to the week after it was built at Cowley + its first return to the U.K. since export.

My 1949 Morris Minor is a rare car, as LHD 'lowlight' Minors went to Canada for only a single year. Less than 10 survive today.
Mine has less than 20,000 miles, so I'm hugely honored Steph of I Drive A Classic chose it to drive 75 years to the week after it was built at Cowley.

(2 of 3) That said, even in the U.S., average public attitudes stay largely as they've been: center-right. Take for instance #LGBTQ civil rights: a solid majority now supports same-sex marriage ... tho has no earthly idea equality in employment + housing access depend on your STATE (not national).

Nor should they be. An example is being made. The best this generation of Brits can hope for (the yoot who were effed by their parents + grandparents) is relaxation of a few things that, for example, prevented a Brit car-parts shop from overnight-shipping a part to me when I was in The Netherlands.

California has adopted a new law that requires bars + clubs to offer testing kits so patrons can check their drinks aren’t spiked with such drugs as ketamine, flunitrazepam (aka Rohypnol), or GHB. AB 1013 took effect Monday after Gov Newsom signed it into law last year. Wow.

An EPA investigation found certain 2012-2018 GM vehicles emitted more than 10% higher #CO2 on average than the automaker’s initial compliance reports claimed.
GM is not admitting any wrongdoing, including any violation of the Clean Air Act.

Same in US, but we have multiple urban centers; UK has only one Southeast. I pay less in monthly fees for my NYC flat than my cousin's kid pays to share a flat in an area I didn't now on a subway line I've never ridden. My line: "Always buy your flat the year the murder rate peaks; it's cheaper."
