📢 App Version 1.85 is rolling out now (1/6)
We’re very excited for this release.
• Lots of visual improvements
• You can now temporarily deactivate your account
• Posts can be DMed to other users
• And more!
Read on for details 🧵
Version 1.85 broke the app on my phone, and wouldn't let me type anything when opened from the app store. I had to roll back to 1.84 to use the app on my phone, and now it works fine. Updating to 1.85 just doesn't work with my phone for some reason, and I don't know if its affecting anyone else.
The splash screen when you open the mobile app is still annoying and visually unpleasant to the point where I have to look away from the screen when I click the bluesky icon.

UI improvements! We’ve been tuning the UI to make it feel better and improve clarity.
✨ We updated the icons on posts.
✨ We improved the post composer on mobile.
✨ Labels on posts now use the avatar of the labeler, making them much visually shorter.
Could you please check how this looks on the desktop version? I have to set the zoom on my browser to 90% to see the sidebars now...this happened with the last update too. Not sure what the issue is, but I'd rather not have to zoom and have tiny fonts just to see the whole page.
On Android I cannot make posts or quote reposts (though I can repost and reply.) There seems to be a bug with the posting window with this update. Even with typing this reply it shows at most 2 lines on screen at a time.
Great! One minor observation: in chat mode would it be possible to add a delete function that deletes an entry for both the sender and receiver and not just the sender? This would be great for typos and when one inadvertently sends unfinished messages.
Feature suggestion. I love the indentation in threads. Yet sometimes people answer themselves, i.e. build larger postings from smaller ones. I wonder how complicated it could be, to get rid of indentation in that particular case, i.e. reply from the same account as the skeet itself.
Is it planned to have the program remembers where you’re at in your time line? Every time I load Bluesky on my phone I’m put back top of my time line instead of the last post I read.
Android app reloads every time I exit to another app even for a few seconds, losing my place (taking several minutes to find where I was), and losing any post I'm in the middle of. On any Android device.
On iOS when you open the app with a cold start and open the new composer window the animation doesn’t work. It’s just a jarring transition with a pushed down background screen.
Only after closing and opening the composer again does it animate properly. 🤔
Any upcoming love for the list function? Would love to set some lists to only posts or media. Which is possible with feeds, but for lists I'm stuck with every reply a person I add to the list makes.
After yesterday's update to Android, the latest version of the Blue Sky application cannot be launched with a shortcut from the desktop. At all. Only a system message about the application crashing will be displayed. I have to run before google play. Will the bug be fixed soon?
Since the new update I can no longer use the keyboard to compose a post on my Samsung android phone. I tried the Samsung keyboard and GBoard both with no luck. The keyboard pops up and then immediately disappears.
Hi. I found this version crashed on launch on macOS 14.5. It seems like something wrong in SwiftUI. I would be happy to provide the crash log if you need.
Default something like the "Latest from Follows" feed, since everything gets buried when certain people are extra active or repost happy. A lot of people dip pretty quick since nobody gets their posts seen through that. I've recently rediscovered most of the people I've followed since pinning it
