Also: if the software brings out your worst tendencies, stop using the software is a valid fix! Otherwise it’s like saying “I’m a mean drunk” while chugging bourbon.

I completely agree. I will say that anyone moving from a larger community space to a smaller more exclusive space should view it with a suitably high level of skepticism. These problems also happen out in the open but it’s a lot easier to see. Things are easier to obscure in those smaller spaces.
