Israeli top officials said that the Palestinian people in Gaza were animals. They are intentionally doing to them what most of us would never do to an animal. They still have the support of the US, the UK, the EU, and Germany, among others. What we are witnessing is monstrous.

The different way universities in the West reacted to Ukraine and Palestine shows that even their solidarity for Ukraine was merely performative, nothing but pure marketing and/or arse-licking to power. As many of us always knew.

I just read that Berlin will oblige all recipients of public culture funding to accept the IHRA definition of antisemitism. The definition conflates antisemitism with criticism of Israel. Berlin has approved this during the genocide of Palestinians in Gaza perpetrated by Israel.

Let's put this straight. The world is not just failing to protect the Palestinian people. Part of the West has actively supported Israel while it committed the genocide in Gaza. Only South Africa has done something relevant to stop it so far.

A local cinema is exhibiting 'The Dupes' (1973) by Tewfik Saleh. Based on Ghassan Kanafani's 'Men in the Sun', the film portrays the lives of three Palestinian refugees after the 1948 expulsion from Palestine. Good to see cultural institutions doing their part to educate people.

Everything and everyone is a target in Gaza: hospitals, schools, universities, refugee camps, doctors, journalists, aid workers, Palestinians, foreigners, Israeli hostages, babies, children, women, men, and animals. Israel knows no limit, and the world has allowed this to happen.

Jordan student, not Palestinian. Believe it or not, nothing would give me more pleasure than finding that this is fake. But I have no reason to doubt a colleague sharing and saying that this was confirmed by the Jordan Foreign Affairs. Also, I don't assume that only Western media is reliable.

Hotly discussed in Germany? That must be a joke! Apart from accusing everyone, including many Jews, of antisemitism, I don't see German media discussing the current racist discourse against Palestinians, Arabs and Muslims that is dominant in Germany.

Part of white Germany considers progressive Jews less Jewish than Zionist Jews. The country responsible for the Holocaust applies systems of classification and hierarchisation to the same people it tried to exterminate less than 80 years ago. This is deeply anti-semitic.

The Israeli hostages were not killed by 'accident', as I have read. They held a white flag. One of them managed to escape, being then chased and executed by Israeli forces. They thought they were executing Palestinians. Imagine how many times such war crimes have happened.
