I wonder if I could try that. I'm terribly immunosuppressed, so do they have little single-use sample packets? Or I could put it inside my forearms, maybe. I feel awful trying and returning all these things, I'd rather sample and be done.

FWIW, Sephora does have a 30 day return policy where they'll take "lightly used" products back for a full refund if trying out in the store is not possible. You could also try contacting any brand you're interested in & see if they have samples they could send you.

If you have a Sephora store nearby, you can visit and ask them to make you (up to) three different take home samples from the testers.
