It's also frustrating because Airbnb fills a niche that hotels have never even tried on outside resort towns (self-catered accomodation for families and groups) so if it stopped it would actually be a loss.

The New York ban is the worst because it effectively makes it impossible to let to those groups while keeping it for single travelers and couples that hotels mostly work for.
