This is also a big part of my frustration with blanket statements about the left not being willing to engage the system or accept compromise. There’s a ton of instances where that’s simply not the case, and if anything the compromises of the left have been wholly taken for granted as if they’re owed

If you engage strategically and the the strategy leads to failure, it only makes sense for people to reassess the strategy and tactics that led them there. To paint this as the mark of immaturity or ignorance is gaslighting in the extreme imo.
