Big takeaway: How incredibly easy it is for a politician to build up a near-fanatical following, simply by appearing competent and caring in the face of a crisis. (Worth noting: Trump failed that test pretty aggressively.)

Everything else aside... seems abundantly clear that the "good guys" need to have a long-term plan on how to win back the court system that's more refined than "vote Blue." And I have literally no idea if that's happening or who's leading the effort.

It's not just practical. The Democratic Party seems to lean VERY heavily on "it's her turn" when making these decisions. I'd argue that's how we wound up with Biden in the first place. Doesn't seem at all likely that they'd deviate from that now.
