Bad news *if this date holds*. I am very worried that this is the first of a series of delays as these challenges filter through the courts.

The problem Trump has is that the specific motion he's filing can only be granted if the trial court is ~absolutely certain~ his conviction will be overturned on appeal. He has a not-terrible argument on appeal based on SCOTUS' decision, but it's not a slam dunk, so the motion won't prevail.
