Cisgender apprentice geezer (she/her). Love of money is the root of all evil.
Yes, this is why the person who's running second in the polls just drops out before the election.
There's always a plan. It's called campaigning.

I think you're underestimating his desire to be cruel to the people he considers losers, who happen to more or less coincide with the people the right wing wants to oppress.
Granted, he's not into the details of how to go about it.

Not just Christian but rapture activists. Despite the whole "But concerning that day and hour no one knows" thing, they are determined to engineer the end times so that their ascension to heaven will be witnessed by all the losers left behind. (The audience is more important than the destination.)

This is like the dotcom bubble: build a website and the revenue will appear. How? It's a new economy!
Lots of money was invested in startups that spent lots of that money with tech providers and then cratered when the new economy somehow failed to materialize.

Maybe we should get AI on that. I hear it does all sorts of amazing things...

Oh, wait, this assumes that he's elected speaker next session.
Cripes, now I'm wondering what happens if the GOP takes the House and repeats their interminable speaker squabbling.

I was thinking today that Democrats better have control of the House when it's time to certify the presidential election. Really rather not have Mike Johnson in charge of that.

Oh, wait, didn't go far enough down in Google. Great white shark weighs in around 4000 lbs.
How about speed? Looks like they can both do short bursts about 30-35 mph, but typically their fast speed is under 20 mph.
So yeah, pretty good match up. Hippos have more protective padding, though.

Google says hippos weigh about 3000 lbs and sharks weigh about 200 lbs.
If they meet in the air, the hippo wins.
If they meet in the water, the shark has a shot if it gets lucky.

Someone dismissed it as "There's always a think tank plan." So it's important to point out that this is in the implementation phase. They're soliciting and processing applications; they will have a base of people ready to go for the new administration. And they're connected to the Trump campaign.

At this point, voting for Biden is essentially the same thing as voting for Harris.
Anyone who thinks they can organize and fund a presidential campaign for any other candidate in four months is delusional.
Suck it up and get on with it.

At this point, isn't voting for Biden essentially voting for Harris?
Unless Harris has a different operation running her campaign, but putting that together four months before the election seems like a heavy lift.

For the Christian nationalists, I'm hoping their tendency to schism hits them early and often. Whenever they talk about the US as a Christian nation, ask "Which denomination?" (Everyone assumes it's theirs.)

Although in red states, it might be more effective to invade the GOP. At least give yourself some cover.

4. If someone is pardoned, <go between> "suggests" a gratuity

I know someone who won't vote for Trump, but will vote for Republicans -- who have kissed Trump's ring. While Trump is a monster, the current GOP platform is straight up white Christian nationalism. How much does that change with Trump out?
So maybe write about that.

The problem is the way these people see "freedom" as personal rather than abstract.
But this is why I say, when they talk about a Christian nation, ask "Which denomination?" Christians are happy to oppress each other. (Does no one remember the Hundred Years War?)

Four months to agree on a candidate, staff a campaign, raise funds and get the message out to the electorate that no, really, this time we know what we're doing, trust us --
without anyone stepping on a rake along the way.
That's the plan? And we're trusting the Democratic Party to execute it?

You can spend those four months trying to coalesce around some mythical unicorn candidate and create a WHOLE NEW PRESIDENTIAL CAMPAIGN ...
Or you give a seasoned campaigner a chance to regroup and rebuild.
Which seems more possible?

I voted for Bernie in the primary in 2016 because I wanted him to stick around long enough to have leverage over the platform (I'm in NH so it wasn't assured at the time), but he wasn't my choice for Chief Executive.
