This was mostly in response to ticketmaster trying to monopolize the resale market. It's not about tickets being resold at a profit, it's about ticketmaster not receiving that profit. Trust that if there's a market for anything in this country, corporations will extract.

The GOP is just so much more effective at marketing. I think the term "pro-choice" is the only one that's effective and that they've held on to. Meanwhile, the right's got climate change, entitlements, and various others that they've co-opted.

I had never heard it being a reference to spanking either. I'd always thought it was an allegory of "taking it in the ass" or "he really got buttfucked" so you could use it in "polite" circles. The way I commonly see it utilized is in response to one being perceived as over emotional to a slight.

"Better parents" is just a shallow answer for the underlying issue of many parents not having enough time for their children due to the vast majority of people just struggling to survive. A great many of today's ills could be resolved by addressing that problem first.

Heard a story the other day that woodpeckers attract mates by the loudness of their peck and now, especially in urban areas, they've figured out they can be even louder by banging on metal. Like, roof flashing and exaust ducts. They played a sample and it sounded like a jackhammer.
