I had a bus driver when I was in middle school who was an Italian American named Nick & he was often hungover and one day one of my classmates called him a “loser” and he pulled the bus over and yelled “Loser? I’ve jammed with Orleans, mutherfucker!” The rest of the ride to school was pretty quiet.

In the 50s, movies like “Invasion of the Body Snatchers” were popular because they preyed on fears that your neighbors would turn into soulless, godless communists. People like zombie stuff now because of the fear half the people they know & love have become frothing maniacs.
