I ended up liking open format with light boxes, but I did still utilize enclosed style sometimes. What I did for that was getting three of those foamcore boards from Dollar Tree, and some little L brackets and screwing the panels together as a free-standing unit.

Would you recommend enclosing for doing product shots? I tend to run dimmer lights at longer exposure, but that's just because of old habits and wasn't sure if it would help.

Oh, nice! I just made a big arch with legs out of pipe to hang a sheet from with the foam-cooler lightboxes on the sides. Definitely could've stood an upgrade by the time I was done.
