SOAPBOX TIME I hate how many times I read things like "nobody cares about the world" and "humanity is the virus" and "our species is too inept/evil/selfish to survive" online. I almost never see anyone talking about the many, many people who are doing incredibly hard, complex, good work

AI or content farm. It's hard to tell since AI plagiarizes the web—which increasingly offers low-value/quality content. It's like the myriad product reviews on clickbait sites written by people who have never touched the actual items.

Clearly a Dunning-Kruger case. I once dealt with a dude who photoshopped logos out of competitors’ product shots and tried to pass them off as his own. He was SHOCKED that I figured it out and told him to stop. SHOCKED.

I had coffee today with my Grade 9 English teacher, whom I hadn't seen in 41 years. Among other things, he remarked, "I see you're still into cycling." It was delightful to reconnect with someone who influenced me to become a writer and who noted that my youthful obsession with bikes has not faded.

What a magical night at Toronto’s Massey Hall. Rush’s Alex Lifeson interviewed band mate Geddy Lee about his new book, My Effin’ Life and then Strombo showed up to ask Geddy and Alex audience questions. A lot of the conversation revolved around the band’s late drummer, Neil Peart.
