Moving public opinion is like turning a cruise ship. It's not quick, it's not fun, and it requires a lot of time. Doing it while threatening people with cancellation & strolling around Pride events chanting "We're here, we're queer, we're coming for your children!" ain't gonna do it.

I've been part of that fight since the mid 80s and for me, it's not about compromise. It's about activists trying to re-engineer society in a matter of a decade or less and telling people that there are 176 different genders which you can freely choose every day was ALWAYS going to end in disaster.

But what were we supposed to do? We had already had multiple waves with mask mandates in place. Vaccines were helping. Omicron lowered the severity (yes, I know...long COVID). I see so many of these posts, but I still don't understand what the alternative was? What was the endgame?

4 years later, I still don't understand the point of this. What were we supposed to do? Permanent lockdowns? Have N95s surgically attached to our faces? What? What was the answer? That genie was never going back in the bottle. Honestly, that window closed by May 2020. What did u want?

If you can type that with a straight face, you're not following the industry closely whatsoever. And yeah, Microsoft and OpenAI are just building a run-of-the-mill $100 billion data centre. Maybe they'll use it for A.I. or maybe they'll run Minecraft off it. Who knows?

Yeah, Microsoft is currently investing $100 billion (with a B) in its A.I data centre because A.I. can't do what was promised. I keep seeing people make this mistake... And AGI will here in under 5 years.

Have you tried it? I'm gonna guess no. I had a two-hour conversation with Gemini last week, and it blew me away. People can scoff at A.I. all they want, but it's going to change the world. I'm 100% convinced of it. It's already impressive, and the really advanced stuff isn't even here yet.

I see post after post after post like this... What exactly do you expect us to do? I know people who LIVE in N95s, probably 18 hours a day, and they've still managed to catch it multiple times. Last time I checked, it was the most transmissible virus we've ever seen. WTF are we supposed to do?

...is starting to slide in the polls and all this stuff is why. Making change in society requires breaking some eggs from time to time (I was there for the 80s, 90s and 00s activism), but it also requires some intelligence. They have none.
