My novel is set in the near future, and I used this nifty tool from IPCC/ NASA to see what their climate futures look like. The five sections on the right are different scenarios - bottom one is best case if we start taking massive action to decarbonize today.

They are moving arguments away from saying it doesn’t exist as more people experience extreme climate events to focusing on false silver bullet solutions, environmental cost of clean energy etc. I don’t waste time debating them because they win by distracting us from what we need to do: take action.

Good question for scientists.... or just hijack a blimp and park it over a lake and see if it does better than the ones nearby. It sounds along the lines of the folk putting white coverings on glaciers in the swiss alps, hoping to slow the melt.

I have a rare syndrome where I have lost the majority of my sweat glands and managing heat in a warming world can be scary at times. I can wear an ice pack vest as long as I have no pride in how I look... (Mine is even uglier than the one below).

From 1978 to 2022, CEO pay grew by 1,209% while the typical worker's pay rose just 15%. This explosion in CEO pay relative to the pay of average workers isn’t because CEOs have become so much more valuable than before. They've just gamed the system to line their pockets.
