Generally mihoyo's games aren't too bad. The 5/mo trickle of currency tends to end up being worth it if you're into the game that logging in daily is something you'd do anyway. On that alone I tend to be able to keep up with content and get 1 copy of the limited banner character.

Getting multiples, or bad luck with the 50/50 on a limited banner for someone you really want, or the premium battle pass, or... and you can understand how they had money to help fund a privately owned fusion reactor.
