And thats not even TOUCHING potentially making toxic friends who not only enforce these aspects, but encourage problematic tribalism. Worse still, all it can take is pissing off the wrong person with a strong social following before everything you've worked for becomes completely invalidated.

I think artists (furry or otherwise) often find themselves pulled into communities that encourage them to monetize their craft. Its usually a nice source of money, especially if you are young. But there are invisible costs. Turning your passion into an underpriced commodity can damage your spark.

What resulted was a series of events where I basically got banned off most of the socials, went on a serial bridge arson spree (metaphorically) and got institutionalized irl because I feel like I wasted my life trying to appease predators and truly insane people. And that's why I'm a jerk.

At the time I agreed to keep it to myself, But then then said friend had a manic episode and went off staying fights with people about really stupid political takes. Which in turn made me so engaged at the ridiculousness of the situation and my part in it that I got really drunk and spilled tea
