I know people have mixed opinions about Wuk Lamat but you know what, I think it’s a lot of fun that the girl character gets to be the genki lovable shonen protagonist beefhead for once and the brother has to be the Lisa Simpson/Hermione Granger/Gwen Tennyson. She’s like if Karlach got to be Naruto
Doubly so, IMO, that we’re cast in the veteran mentor role of her hero’s journey, the Auron to her Yuna (and Tidus, in some ways?). Training up the next generation was an element of the Stormblood crafter quests I really liked, so I appreciate they found a way to incorporate that here, too.
I also think it’s funny that her and Koana next to each other look like a reverse of all the jokes about “male characters in MMOs versus female characters in MMOs”
I’m not very far into MSQ, but I adore Wuk Lamat. She’s a fun, positive character who thinks outside the box. I like that she’s the protagonist and really, women are a large audience. Representation matters. A female character who isn’t supporting cast or a sex symbol is important.
