Styles change, the luxury is in the materials used and the design of the home. If someone wanted that house on the left built, they could hire someone to build it. But, no one wants a house built like the one on the left anymore.

Sorry, was meant for a different response. However, that second one includes all households and govt spending. If you remove the upper classes, savings are underwater. Purchasing power has been underwater for years.

44 months of the middle class not being able to pay their bills is pretty fucking horrible. Credit card debt, unpaid debt, student loan debt, just about any debt the middle class uses, is at all time highs. The average middle classer still can't pay their bills today.

Exactly. Inflation was what, 8% 2 years ago, 7% last year? Prices doubled, but now they've dropped a bit (still stupid high), and wages have caught up by the slightest of margins (+0.6%), and we're supposed to act like everything is all better? It's a real "Let them eat cake" moment for liberals
