The combination of a cold, briny sea and dead wet leaves on the wind. Now that I live 1400 miles from the New England coast, I could spend hours on an October night in Salem just enjoying that smell when I visit.

Very cool. I found a small stack of CDs that I'd burned between 16-18 years ago, and have been listening to them in my car the past few weeks. Her song "Down by the Water" was on 3-4 of the discs, along with a lot of other songs that were pretty downbeat. Must've been a rough year for me.

I agree; I would have liked to see some more build-up around the big bad, but there were so many characters. Still, it was a movie that we all enjoyed as a family, so I can complain too much.

That... was one hell of a ride. As someone who worked with traumatized kids for 15 years, and as someone who has seen all but maybe 3-5 of the movies referenced in the book, Jade's voice was as clear as could be from page 1. I loved this book, and can't wait to share it with others. Thank you.
