"Believe me, my young friend, there is NOTHING-absolutely nothing-half so much worth doing as simply messing about in boats."
It usually is one of the more funky tasting of the city pumps, but maybe a lot of people were using it today and made it seem colder? Or all the extra rain this year is boosting those tasty natural salts?

I don't think it was his idea, and I know he already sold the company, but those little plastic containers that Talenti Gelato containers are super useful for leftovers because the tops screw on. I'm stretching to be nice.

The Quaking Bog pump has the coldest, best tasting well water this year. I would love to have a local aquifer expert explain the science behind that observation.

Cool part about spending most of my time over South is that I can hang out all day by multiple lakes, see everyone I know and their aunties too but the odds of a Jacob Frey encounter ruining my day is exactly 0.

So the general consensus seems to be we're not doing mass protests against the coming dictatorship, so as a consolation can we at least party like its 1932 Weimar Summer?

I haven't heard from Michael Bloomberg lately. It was really important to scuttle a potential Bernie presidency with billions of his own money. So now that he got what he wanted I will take his quiet money to mean he backs a Trump dictatorship?

When the teaching stress dreams finally die down in early August, the "I'm lost in a strange middle school" dreams start cranking up and I know that summer is over. Every dream is a waiting tables dream as well, usually the customers are angry.

Is the Dan Patch Line still banned by act of the State Legislature from ever carrying passenger trains? I feel like I remember that passing in the Pawlenty years, just knife-twisting public transit for fun.

Muskrat Love is one of the most disturbing songs in existence. On youtube you can watch them perform it live with creepy sock-puppets and a spoken intro where she recounts the time they played it at the Nixon White House with Kissinger swooning in the front row. Have a lot of sympathy for 70s kids!

I love any and all bike and pedestrian infrastructure, but the plastic bollards need to chill. Just shredding plastic to send to the river, and ultimately the sea. Biking around the bent, twisted wreckage of the mess cars make of them is dangerous too.

When MPS redrew their boundaries to potentially save $1m in bussing costs under the CDD they also lost 1/3 of their students because people hated it. So I would say investing in schools and NOT closing any more sites is a better plan than this bonkers "austerity". Too much shooting of own feet!
